24 Hour Party People

$26.99

Feature film depicting the Manchester punk/new wave/rave scene from 1976 thru 1992. Blown away by a then unknown local band called the Sex Pistols, TV personality Tony Wilson (Steve Coogan) is inspired to invent a uniquely anarchic record label. Soon he's promoting everyone from New Order to Happy Mondays on his newly formed Factory Records, while diving head first into excess. It's mostly about Ian Curtis with Joy Division and Shaun Ryder's disastrous antics in the Happy Mondays. This has a really great scene at the beginning with real footage of the 1976 Sex Pistols performance, during which we are treated to glimpses into the future musical careers of a handful of the 42 people that attended it. Includes 2 audio commentaries with Tony Wilson, Steve Coogan and the producer. Also includes 2 featurettes, deleted scenes of Shaun Ryder acting like a total d*ckhead, & a photo gallery. 1 hour 57 min + extras DVD
